Our work

What we do.

Six ways YADE works with children, young people and women in our community.

Smiling children holding up new exercise books, pens and bars of soap
01 Children

School support

Children receive exercise books, pens and soap. Having the right materials helps a child take a full part in school.

Sport and togetherness

Sport is at the heart of YADE: a football sits in the middle of our logo. Games and sport bring children and young people together as one team.

03 Women

Sewing skills

Women practise sewing on sewing machines. Sewing is a practical skill that can be used to earn a living.

04 Young people

Young farmers

Young people work together in the field, growing maize. Farming as a group is also a way to learn from one another.

05 Women

Women farming together

Women work side by side in a field of maize and beans — some with their youngest children on their backs.

Reaching out to children

We spend time with children and young people in the community and share a meal together.
